DA - 380 Hip-Hop and Social Justice

Credits: 3

Serves as a vessel of investigation of the historical relationship Hip-Hop has with social and political perception. Emphasis is placed on examining Hip-hop’s foundation of activism in social justice and expressing the act of injustice through it elements (music, dance, art). Examination of the genre as a global phenomenon, cultural influence, social connections, political impacts will be discussed. Course fee.
