NU - 773 Emergency Nurse Practitioner IICredits: 6
This is the final ENP course designed to provide students with the theoretical foundation and clinical competencies to manage the urgent and emergent health care needs, including psychiatric and behavioral health needs, of patients across the lifespan. Issues of age, gender, race, and culture are emphasized. Students will apply advanced health assessment, pathophysiology, pharmacotherapeutics, and non-pharmacotherapeutics in the development of differential diagnoses and plan of care. Urgent and emergent needs of the pregnant and geriatric populations are also addressed. Students will be prepared to engage in public health emergencies, disasters, and mass casualties. Precepted clinical experiences provide opportunities for students to apply new knowledge to the evaluation, stabilization, intervention, and treatment of specific urgent and emergent conditions. 45 hours lecture/225 hours clinical
