NU - 523 Health Policy, Advocacy and Finance: A Systems Approach

This course provides an overview of health policy and financing issues. The structure of the major delivery and public/private reimbursement systems is explored. Concepts related to the design, function, management and evaluation of budgets, budget analysis and variances are studied. Emphasis is placed on the interrelationships between health care financing and health policy as well as opportunities for health advocacy in the advanced practice role.
