HI - 401 Seminar in Historical Research

An introduction to the craft of original, individualized research. Students will choose a specific topic, locate relevant sources, develop questions, and work to answer them. Throughout the semester, students present their findings to fellow students. A formal research paper is due at semester’s end. Open to nonmajors. Mode of delivery: 3 hours of in-class instruction with 1 hour of instruction provided in the form of one-on-one mentoring between instructor and individual students, among peers (in-person, synchronously via Teams).
