Cross-listed with WC-147. Examines the relationship between non-western dances around the world and their surrounding cultural landscapes including cross-cultural analysis of social, political, religious, and aesthetic purposes. Dance and human movement as a form of cultural knowledge reflective of values is emphasized to increase awareness and understanding of human cultural activity. Lecture 3 hours.
