HCM - 230 Introduction to Health Communication

Credits: 3

Will familiarize students with the prominent theories, issues, and topics in health communication. It will include a review of research on health literacy, social support, patient-provider interaction, communication campaigns (health promotion, disease prevention, and risk and crisis communication), technology in health contexts, media and wellness, and cultural influences on health.

General Education: Satisfies Expanded Literacies: Social Analysis.
