A study of theatre’s evolution from its origins in pre-recorded history to the European Renaissance. This course explores how theatre has been created in various cultures. Attention will be paid to the trajectory of Western theatre, with special focus given to non-Western forms, examining the cultural, religious, economic, political, and sociopolitical influences that informed each. Course fee.
