AM - 226 Meterology

Credits: 3

This course provides a comprehensive study of meteorology with a direct application to aviation operations and flight planning. Students will analyze the physical processes of the atmosphere and their effect on weather. Topics include atmospheric stability, global wind patterns, air masses and fronts, and a detailed analysis of aviation hazards such as thunderstorms, icing, turbulence, and wind shear. Emphasis is placed on the interpretation and application of a full suite of aviation-specific weather reports, charts, and forecasts.
