TV - 460 Film Theory and AnalysisCredits: 3
Building on TV 160 , this course explores key concepts, debates, and texts in 20th- and 21st-century film theory. Students engage with key theoretical approaches such as formalism, realism, feminism, auteurism, and psychoanalysis, to examine how cinema constructs meaning, emotion, and ideology. Emphasis is placed on developing critical frameworks to interpret film as an art form, cultural text, and mode of representation.
