Using a world history approach, the course investigates the bloodiest century in human history. Students are introduced to media and government narratives in tandem with personal accounts to evaluate modern warfare in a
multifaceted way, examining the world wars’ characteristics and their effects on colonial empires, global commerce, industrial and technological development, and societal and cultural norms.
