The College of Arts, Education, and Humanities houses the School and departments of Education, Humanities, and Philosophy and Theology. The School of Education contains undergraduate majors in early childhood and elementary education, and master’s degree programs in education and higher education (MEd). The Department of Humanities contains undergraduate majors in communication studies, English, history, liberal studies, and Spanish, and an MFA in Creative Writing & Publishing. The Department of Philosophy and Theology contains undergraduate majors in philosophy and theology. The School of Performing Arts houses the departments of Dance, Theatre, and TV/Film. These departments contain undergraduate majors in dance, theatre, and TV/film respectively.
College of Arts, Education, and Humanities Mission Statement
The mission of the College of Arts, Education, and Humanities is to support the Salesian, Christian humanist mission of DeSales University through excellence in teaching and in research for the undergraduate general education core curriculum; for the undergraduate programs (BA and BS) in communication studies, dance, early childhood and elementary education, English, history, liberal studies, philosophy, Spanish, television and film, theatre, and theology; and for the graduate programs in Education and Higher Education(MEd), and Creative Writing & Publishing (MFA).
