The College of Sciences houses the departments of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Mathematics/Computer Science, Sport and Exercise Physiology, and Social Sciences. The Department of Biology contains undergraduate majors in biology and neuroscience, the Department of Chemistry and Physics offers a major in chemistry, and a biochemistry-molecular biology major is offered jointly by the Department of Biology and the Department of Chemistry and Physics. The Department of Mathematics/Computer Science includes undergraduate majors in mathematics, computer science, media studies, and a master’s degree program in information systems (MSIS). The Department of Sport and Exercise Physiology contains an undergraduate major in Sport and Exercise Physiology. The Department of Social Sciences offers undergraduate majors in criminal justice, homeland security, law & society, political science, and psychology, and master’s degree programs in criminal justice (MCJ) and homeland security (MHS).

College of Sciences Mission Statement

The mission of the College of Sciences is to provide a quality educational experience enabling students to obtain knowledge and understanding in computer science, mathematics, biology, neuroscience, biochemistry-molecular biology, chemistry, sport and exercise physiology, criminal justice, homeland security, law & society, political science, and psychology in accordance with the philosophy of Christian humanism as developed by St. Francis de Sales. Graduates are prepared for careers in current technology, mathematics, natural sciences, and social sciences.
