The Science of Reading

The graduate certificate in the Science of Reading prepares teachers to be literacy leaders in their schools. Through in-depth study of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing, students receive a solid foundation in the key literacy components underlying successful literacy education. In addition, students understand research-based instructional methodologies, using assessment data to differentiate instruction, and providing multi-tier levels of support.

Students can apply credits from the graduate certificate in the Science of Reading towards a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Elementary Education.
