Controlled Electives

This program is intended to prepare students for a career in forensic accounting and to provide them with the academic background for certification as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). In addition to fulfilling requirements for the accounting degree, students on the forensic accounting track must complete:

4+1 BS/MBA Degree Program

A 4 + 1 BS/MBA Degree Program in Accounting is available to qualifying students.  At the end of their junior year, accounting majors with at least a 3.0 GPA are eligible for the program.  Qualifying students may begin MBA courses during the fall semester of their senior year.

The majority of U.S. states (47, excluding Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Virginia) require 150 college credit hours for CPA licensure.  If your state requires 150 credit hours, this program allows you to meet that requirement while simultaneously completing your Master’s Degree.  You can verify your state’s requirements with the board of accountancy where you plan to be licensed.
