Cross-listed with SP 251 . Introduces students to cultural diversity, histories, and experiences of Latinos in the United States through contemporary texts, literature, folklore, music, dance, and film. The course will examine a number of topics and issues that are key to understanding contemporary Latinos, e.g., immigration, assimilation, language, education, employment, contributions, and cultural resistance. This course requires off-classroom activities. Course fee.
