The Criminal Justice Program


A student choosing criminal justice as a major is required to successfully complete the following criminal justice courses:

Additional Information


Students who major in criminal justice can earn both an undergraduate degree in criminal justice and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice (MCJ) in the five-year Bachelor’s to Master’s in Criminal Justice degree program. Students in their junior year majoring in criminal justice and who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher, are eligible to apply for admittance in the Five-Year BA/MACJ degree program. Students begin taking graduate level courses during their senior year of undergraduate study. These three graduate courses will count both towards the completion of an undergraduate degree and a Masters of Arts in Criminal Justice degree. Required Courses


A track in criminal justice/social studies education is available for those students who wish to become certified as secondary school teachers. A student choosing this track is required to successfully complete the following:

One additional course


Either one additional course in history or one course in government. These students must also complete the STEP Social Studies requirements and the Professional Education Sequence. Students electing this track must ordinarily meet their Humanities 1 and 2 requirement with HI 201 -HI 202 .
